Adam Twidell is the CEO and co-founder of PrivateFly, the online charter network.
Adam began his career in the Royal Air Force, where he served 10 years as a pilot from 1994-2004.
Leaving the RAF, Adam was seeking more adventurous flying than a routine airline job. He joined NetJets, who had just started to expand their fractional ownership fleet of private jets, and spent three years learning about the business aviation industry.
Spotting an opportunity at RAF Northolt in London for a private jet hub, Adam launched a successful bid with London City Airport for this MOD contract. Adam continues to work with the RAF and London City Airport to improve access and facilities at RAF Northolt for the private aviation community.
Having seen the industry from these angles, Adam saw the opportunity for a technology-driven business model within the charter segment allowing private jet passengers transparent pricing and comparison from charter operators.
This idea was developed into the early business model for PrivateFly, which launched in 2007. The business is now Europe’s leading online broker for private jet travel through its website, apps and multi-lingual Operations team. PrivateFly also distributes its services through partners including Addison Lee; lastminute.com; and Manchester Airports Group.
